Beauty works from the inside out, and if our insides aren’t healthy then our outsides can portray that. So today I wanted to focus on 9 supplements that you could take to help heal yourself from the inside to portray a more beautiful you. I didn’t do 10, I am well aware, but screw them even numbers I wanna go crazy and do 9. I’m so wild. Hahaha anyways, these little blurbs about the different supplements will help to tell you what they do and where you can find them.
First off is Biotin which can be found by the brand Jamieson or Nature’s Bounty are very common brands. What biotin does is help keep your keratin strong – this means nails and hair – including brows and lashing. A deficiency of biotin in the body can cause nail breaking/thinning or hair loss. If you either cannot find the supplement or would rather eat it in foods, you can find it in swiss chard, liver, egg yolks, cheese, fish and beans. As a side note, biotin is also crucial for healthy fetal development! So if you’re pregnant, load up!
Secondly we’re going to go over Cod Liver Oil. Obviously you’re not going to get cod liver oil from other foods, unless you eat cod liver often… But what it does is help keep your skin soft, supple and hydrated. Now I don’t want to be captain obvious but DON’T open these capsules up and rub them on your face… It’s sad that I have to say it, but I’ve known a few people who have actually done that.. So you swallow these capsules, don’t chew them because they taste like dead fish. You can also get this in liquid form, I would suggest trying the capsules before that because the liquid tastes sick… But whatever floats your boat I guess.
Next we’re going to go over Milk Thistle. This is primarily used to keep a healthy liver, but it can also help to reduce irritation and redness while softening the skin. This is good for those who have problems with rosacea or irritable skin (obv because it helps inflammation and redness…). Again, this can’t be found in random foods, it will just have to be found in the supplement aisle.
Murad Pure Skin Clarifying Dietary Supplement is good to reduce blemishes and promote healthier skin from the inside out, meaning that it will heal skin for long term. Now I hadn’t heard of this before reading about it, and I don’t know exactly where you can get it, but after reading about it for a while I’ve decided it sounds wonderful. The bottle is $43 and lasts for 30 days, and it will reduce breakouts by 55% in 6 weeks, so you will need a few bottles to completely have healthy skin.
Next is Phyto Phytophanere Dietary Supplement, which helps to fortify (to strengthen) hair and nails. This supplement is a combination of vitamins, essential fatty acids and antioxidants. These supplements are a bit more expensive and again I am not positive where you can get them, but they seem pretty legit. They help to illuminate the skin and because they strengthen hair they can help to lengthen and thicken lashes as a side bonus.
Now lets move on to Zinc supplements. You can find these at any grocery store or drug store and are pretty cheap. What zinc does is help metabolize proteins and fats which helps to maintain the immune system. Zinc contains antioxidant properties to help slow down aging and help give clearer skin. If you don’t want to go the supplement route and would rather get your zinc from foods you can try oysters, lobster and red meats.
Perfectil Platinum has a large following in the UK. This is made specifically for mature skin to help it to look youthful and glowing. The Perfectil Platinum contains collagen and herbal extracts which help to not only regenerate, but also to protect your skin from harmful UV radiation. This helps to produce dermal repair as well as cell renewal. So if you feel like you’re on the bandwagon to anti-age, find yourself some Perfectil Platinum! They are available to order online if you just search the name of the supplement.
Now I’m going to talk to you about Meiji Amino Collagen which comes as a powder. Stir this powder into a liquid (any liquid, however I wouldn’t recommend pop because pop just sucks anyways..) and then obviously drink the liquid; you won’t get the benefits from bathing in it… This is a collagen powder which helps to improve the skin’s elasticity and prevent wrinkles. Collagen also helps to tighten and firm the skin, basically has a wonderful anti-aging effect. I’m not sure exactly where you can get this product (again, I’m a fail on this) however if you do know, let me know because that would be just peachy.
Lastly, I’m going to go over grape seed oil. Grape seed oil is high in alpha linoleic acid, which is full of antioxidants for your skin. We already know that antioxidants help to fight free radicals which can cause skin damage. Now this is one of those things that can be taken topically as well, however it is an oil so I wouldn’t recommend slathering it all over your face as it can be extremely hydrating and cause breakouts when applied straight. If you internally ingest it, it will not only help to hydrate, but it will help diabetes, high blood pressure, Rheumatoid Arthritis and asthma. This can be found in your vitamin aisle at a grocery or drug store in capsule form, however I am not sure where to find just pure grape seed oil.
Hopefully you can find a few that you’d like to try out and you can find where to get them! Let me know if you find any of the ones that I don’t know where they are…
